Wing Lam (b. Hong Kong) draws from the three formative years in her home city prior to her move to Singapore. Those experiences of civic and public life shape her sense of collective agency, her relationship to authority and her views of an individual’s relationship to state and city. The work functions as a act of remembrance and an active extension of those experiences into an academic gallery.
